Thirty-one new cases of Covid-19 were reported in Meghalaya today, as well as four recoveries and no new fatalities.
Twenty-one of the new infections were reported in East Khasi Hills, taking the district’s active cases to 104. There were also nine new infections in West Jaiñtia Hills and one in East Jaiñtia Hills.
Three of the new cases in East Khasi Hills were of returnees, while four were in Pynthorbah and three in Lummawbah. In West Jaiñtia Hills six were in Shangpung and one in Mukhap.
All four of the recoveries were in East Khasi Hills.
In all, Meghalaya has had 13,924 Covid-19 cases, of which 164 are active, 13,612 have recovered and 148 have died from the virus. The recovery rate is 97.76 percent. The fatality rate is 1.06 percent. There were also around 1,350 Covid tests carried out in the last 24 hours.
The Health Department also informed that 9,696 healthcare workers have received the first dose of the Covid-19 vaccine.
