Cases of Covid-19 in Khasi-Jaiñtia Hills (including Ri-Bhoi) cross the 8,000-mark today, totaling 8,039.
Of these 730 are active, 7,226 have recovered and 83 have died from the disease. East Khasi Hills is responsible for 6,110 of these cases, with Ri-Bhoi accounting for 1,040 and 889 spread out between West and South West Khasi Hills and West and East Jaiñtia Hills.
Meanwhile, there were another 60 new coronavirus cases reported today as well as 72 recoveries.
Of the new cases, East Khasi Hills recorded 25, East Jaiñtia Hills 13, East Garo Hills seven, West Garo Hills six, West Jaiñtia Hills four, Ri-Bhoi two, South West Garo Hills two and West Khasi Hills one.
Of the new recoveries East Khasi Hills accounted for 34, West Garo Hills 26, East Garo Hills three, Ri-Bhoi three, West Jaiñtia Hills three, West Khasi Hills two and South West Garo Hills one.
There have been a total of 9,801 infections in the state – 90 fatalities, 8,752 recoveries and 959 active infections.
