There were 101 new cases of Covid-19 recorded in Meghalaya today, which is the lowest figure since April 18. There were also 280 new recoveries and four fatalities.
All four deaths were in East Khasi Hills and all were of unvaccinated people, the Health Department informed.
East Khasi Hills recorded 30 new cases today (lowest since April 12), West Khasi Hills 25, West Jaiñtia Hills 19, West Garo Hills 13 and 14 among the other seven districts.
East Khasi Hills accounted for 127 recoveries, West Khasi Hills 50, South West Khasi Hills 39, Ri-Bhoi 23, West Jaiñtia Hills 21 and 20 among the other six districts.
There are now 2,326 active Covid-19 cases in the state. East Khasi Hills alone accounts for 1,212 active cases, Ri-Bhoi 322, West Khasi Hills 309, West Jaiñtia Hills 197, South West Khasi Hills 102, West Garo Hills 86, East Jaiñtia Hills 38, South West Garo Hills 20, East Garo Hills 17, North Garo Hills 10 and South Garo Hills 13.
In all, Meghalaya has had 75,836 Covid-19 cases, of which 2,326 are active, 72,199 have recovered and 1,311 have died from the virus. The recovery rate increased to 95.20 percent. The fatality rate stayed level at 1.73 percent. The seven-day rolling average for new cases declined to 229.14 and stayed level for new deaths at 3.71.
