There were 96 new cases of Covid-19 recorded in Meghalaya today, the second time in eight days that fewer than 100 were logged across the state. There were also 216 recoveries and one fatality.
The lone death was in West Khasi Hills, the Health Department informed.
East Khasi Hills recorded 64 new cases today, West Khasi Hills 13 and 19 between the other nine districts.
East Khasi Hills accounted for 136 recoveries, West Khasi Hills 26, West Jaiñtia Hills 21, Ri-Bhoi 20 and 13 between the other seven districts.
There are now 1,373 active Covid-19 cases in the state. East Khasi Hills alone accounts for 767 active cases, West Khasi Hills 306, West Jaiñtia Hills 153, Ri-Bhoi 72, South West Khasi Hills 21, West Garo Hills 20, East Jaiñtia Hills 15, East Garo Hills nine, South West Garo Hills six, North Garo Hills three and South Garo Hills one.
In all, Meghalaya has had 81,955 Covid-19 cases, of which 1,373 are active, 79,173 have recovered and 1,409 have died from the virus. The recovery rate is 96.61 percent. The fatality is 1.72 percent. The seven-day rolling average for new cases is 137.57 and for new deaths is 1.71.
