Meghalaya recorded another 48 new Covid-19 cases and 139 recoveries, bringing the number of active infections down to 1,514, which is the lowest number it has been since September 29 when there were 1,476.
With a flurry of new recoveries over the last few days East Khasi Hills now has 862 active cases, which is the district’s lowest number since September 9 when there were 860.
Of the 48 new cases, East Khasi Hills reported 23, West Jaiñtia Hills 14, West Garo Hills five, North Garo Hills three, Ri-Bhoi one, South West Garo Hills one and South West Khasi Hills one.
Of the 139 recoveries, 117 were recorded in East Khasi Hills, 11 in Ri-Bhoi, six in West Garo Hills, two in North Garo Hills, two in South West Khasi Hills and one in West Jaiñtia Hills.
Of the other districts, Ri-Bhoi has the second highest tally of active infections at 224, while West Garo Hills has 164, West Jaiñtia Hills 97, West Khasi Hills 51, East Garo Hills 50, South Garo Hills 27, North Garo Hills 20, East Jaiñtia Hills 12, South West Garo Hills five and South West Khasi Hills two.
