There were 426 new cases of Covid-19 recorded in Meghalaya, today, along with 419 recoveries and nine fatalities.
Five fatalities were recorded in East Khasi Hills, along with two in West Garo Hills and one each in West Jaiñtia Hills and West Khasi Hills.
East Khasi Hills reported 129 new infections, Ri-Bhoi 87, West Garo Hills 73, West Jaiñtia Hills 39, West Khasi Hills 19, East Garo Hills 18, North Garo Hills 16, East Jaiñtia Hills 15, South West Khasi Hills 14, South Garo Hills eight and South West Garo Hills eight.
East Khasi Hills recorded 170 recoveries, West Garo Hills 66, North Garo Hills 42, West Jaiñtia Hills 39, East Garo Hills 27, East Jaiñtia Hills 18, South West Garo Hills 16, West Khasi Hills 15, South Garo Hills 10, South West Khasi Hills eight and Ri-Bhoi 67.
There are now 4,391 active Covid-19 cases in the state. East Khasi Hills alone accounts for 1,423 active cases, Ri-Bhoi 1,047, West Garo Hills 546, West Jaiñtia Hills 449, West Khasi Hills 258, North Garo Hills 168, East Garo Hills 113, East Jaiñtia Hills 112, South West Khasi Hills 109, South Garo Hills 103 and South West Garo Hills 63.
In all, Meghalaya has had 53,670 Covid-19 cases, of which 4,391 are active, 48,380 have recovered and 899 have died from the virus. The recovery rate has increased to 90.14 percent. The fatality rate increased to 1.68 percent. The seven-day rolling average for new cases has dropped to 442.14 and has risen for new deaths to 7.14.
