There were 517 people who recovered from Covid-19 in East Khasi Hills alone today, the highest single-day figure since May.
In all, there were 343 new coronavirus infections today, 918 recoveries and seven fatalities in the state.
Five deaths were in East Khasi Hills and two in Ri-Bhoi. Six of the seven were unvaccinated, the Health Department informed.
East Khasi Hills recorded 147 new cases today, West Jaintia Hills 69, West Garo Hills 46, West Khasi Hills 43, Ri-Bhoi 17 and 21 among the other six districts.
East Khasi Hills accounted for 517 recoveries, West Garo Hills 88, West Khasi Hills 87, Ri-Bhoi 80, South West Khasi Hills 65, West Jaiñtia Hills 44, South Garo Hills 12 and 25 among the other four districts.
There are now 3,931 active Covid-19 cases in the state. East Khasi Hills alone accounts for 1,578 active cases, West Khasi Hills 608, West Garo Hills 450, West Jaiñtia Hills 442, Ri-Bhoi 429, South West Khasi Hills 207, East Jaiñtia Hills 51, East Garo Hills 43, South Garo Hills 41, North Garo Hills 41and South West Garo Hills 41.
In all, Meghalaya has had 71,388 Covid-19 cases, of which 3,931 are active, 66,237 have recovered and 1,220 have died from the virus. The recovery rate has risen to 92.78 percent. The fatality rate stayed level at 1.71 percent. The seven-day rolling average for new cases dropped to 393.86 (the first time it has been below since May 12) and stayed level for new deaths at 9.43.
