Chief Minister and National President of NPP Conrad K Sangma led a massive rally in Ampati today to assert the party’s influence on the turf of former CM, Mukul Sangma.
“People from across Garo Hills have shown their support to NPP. We are committed to hear the grievances of our people and better the lives of our citizens. The wave of NPP is strong and we are confident to win over 20 seats,” he Conrad asserted.
The NPP president also introduced his five candidates, Premish Sangma from Betasing, Thebarson Arengh from Boldamgre, Premanando Koch from Zikzak, Sanjib T Sangma from Dengnakpara and Lenikar K Sangma from Nogorpara.
He said that the party in the past six years has emerged as the dominant political force in the region and is widely expanding is based across the country.
“NPP is a home grown party of our people and in a very short span of time it has been listed as a national party. In India, we have over 200 political parties but only 7 are classified as national parties. We should be proud and further come together to make NPP stronger”, he added.
Conrad also attacked the Congress party and said though it administered the GHADC for about 20 years it failed to initiate any reform and development. He stated that the NPP during its three years tenure has made an attempt to initiate financial management and better administration.
