As part of the 75th Independence Day celebrations and in line with the cleanliness drive by the Ministry of Defence, officers and staff of MES Chief Engineer, Shillong Zone yesterday carried out a cleanliness drive under the theme ‘Clean India Safe India’.
Officers, Junior Commission Officers and MES staff cleaned the headquarters of MES Chief Engineer, Shillong Zone and raised the slogan ‘One Step Towards Cleanliness’.
Chief Engineer, MES Shillong Zone Sanjay Ekbote told the officers and staff that cleanliness is most important for physical wellbeing and a healthy environment.
“It is essential for every MES person to learn about cleanliness, hygiene, sanitation and various diseases that are caused due to poor hygienic conditions. Cleanliness ensures a healthy mind and physique,” Ekbote said.
