The Warjri clan has elected former Chief Secretary Barkos Warjri as its new President at its congregation held at Pyndengumiong, Mairang.
Hundreds of members attended the gathering which also saw the felicitation of several distinguished members of the clan who had achieved excellence in various fields of study and career.
Among those were singers Maxter Warjri, Sunita Warjri and Amos Warjri for his outstanding contributions to music, Dr. Miracle Warjri for completing her Ph.D in Chemistry, Riffiness Warjri for scaling Mount Abi Gabin in the Himalayan range., Obinas Warjri for his achievement in martial arts by winning a Silver Medal at the World Muay Boran Championship during the 5th International and Thai Martial Arts Games and Festival.
Discussions that highlighted the importance of maintaining and promoting traditional practices and the evolving needs of the community were also held at the gathering.
