A review meeting between the state’s Education Department with officials from the central government to discuss issues in the education system will be held in Shillong before July 20.
This was informed by Education Minister Rakkam Sangma today. The decision was made following a meeting with the Union Minister of Education, Dharmendra Pradhan, on July 4 in New Delhi. During this meeting, which was led by Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma, Rakkam apprised Pradhan of the issues faced by the department in Meghalaya, such as the Common University Entrance Test (CUET) and SSA teachers.
“Top officials from the central government will come to Shillong to understand the ground realities of the issues in the education sector in Meghalaya,” Rakkam said. “After listening to our issues, the Union minister has been kind enough to send top officers to Meghalaya to discuss with the officials and those concerned in the Education Department on the issues and how to address them.”
