The Central Agricultural University, Imphal is set to host the 35th Biennial Conference of the Home Science Association of India (HSAI Tura Chapter) from January 17 to 19.
The event will be held at the College of Post Graduate Studies in Agricultural Sciences, Umiam in Ri Bhoi district under the theme, “Multidisciplinary Approach in Home and Community Science for Sustainable Development”.
The conference is a prestigious event that brings together scholars, researchers, educators, and professionals in the field of Home/Community Science from across India to share research, foster collaborations, and strengthen the Home Science community. It also serves as a catalyst for advancing the field of Home Science, promoting sustainable development, and empowering individuals and communities for a better future, encouraging multidisciplinary perspectives.
Thirty-five speakers across the country will speak during the technical session of the conference. Around 200 delegates have already registered for the event. The program also includes approximately 120 oral presentations and 80 poster presentations.
The conference aims to provide a platform for discussions and deliberations on themes such as Inclusive Food and Nutrition Security, Sustainable Resource Management, Human Well-being and Holistic Development, Towards Sustainable Textiles, and Creative Extension Approaches.
The event will also feature an award ceremony for paper presentations, recognizing achievements in categories like Young Scientist Award, Mid-Career Award, and Senior Scientist Award.
Tura MP Agatha K. Sangama will inaugurate the conference in the presence of Rajya Sabha MP from Assam Kamakhya Prasad Tasa, Prof. Manoshi Roy Choudhary Co-Chancellor, Techno India University, Kolkata and Prof. N. Vasugi Raaja President, HSAI.
