The Catholic Association of Shillong (CAS) today called on Meghalaya Governor Phagu Chauhan at Raj Bhavan here and handed over a memorandum addressed to the President of India requesting immediate intervention to restore peace and harmony to Manipur.
The delegation was led by CAS president JA Lyngdoh, vice-president and Leader of the Opposition Ronnie V Lyngdoh, vice-president Kiltiora Marbaniang, vice-president Richard Kahit and general secretary Barnabas Nongbah as well as representatives from the youth and womenfolk.
The memorandum was adopted at the peace rally organised by CAS in collaboration with the Meghalaya Church Leaders Forum (MCLF) and the Khasi and Jaintia Christian Leaders Forum (KJCLF) on August 5.
