The Meghalaya cabinet has approved amendment to the Meghalaya Building Bye Laws, 2021 in order to increase the utility of land in Secretariat Hill and European Ward to 60 per cent.
Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma told reporters after the cabinet meeting that the building byelaws will now be made applicable in the Secretariat Hill and the European Ward Area to facilitate optimal use of land and to support continued growth of essential infrastructure.
“The maximum permissible plot coverage area for public and semi public buildings in the Secretariat Hill and European Ward area will be increased from 50 per cent to 60 per cent,” he announced.
