In an effort to bring about closer cooperation between themselves and the civilian population, the 75th Battalion of the Border Security Force (BSF) held a free medical camp today in the border village of Baburambil near the border with Bangladesh in West Garo Hills.
The area is close to the border town of Dalu in the same district.
The event was organized under its civic action programme (CAP) as part of the BSF’s border management plan. The event was held at the Baburambil football ground.
The free medical camp was organized to facilitate medical aid to people from the villages of Baburambil, Jatrakona, Dimapara, Chiringpara and Govindpara.
More than 350 people, including children, women and the elderly, visited the camp.
Examinations were carried out by BSF medical officers led by Dr SK Verma and Dr F Momin and patients were also provided with free medicines. Free sanitizers, masks and hand gloves were also distributed.
Following the camp, the Nokmas expressed their gratitude to the BSF for such work with a request to organize similar events at regular intervals.
