Personnel of the Border Security Force (BSF) successfully foiled attempts to smuggle goods over the international border into Bangladesh and contraband worth more than Rs 8 lakh were seized.
The seizures were made on November 29 by the BSF personnel, who responded to specific intelligence inputs, a press release said today.
Cattle, a “huge quantity” of sugar, clothes, foreign currency and other illicit goods were seized in these operations in Khasi and Jaiñtia Hills.
The confiscated items were promptly handed over to Customs for further legal action.
