The British Deputy High Commissioner, Nicholas Low, paid a courtesy call on Meghalaya Governor Phagu Chauhan at Raj Bhavan here today.
During the meeting, Low offered his country’s support and coordination for development in Meghalaya, especially in healthcare, tourism, education and other areas.
According to a press release from Governor’s House, He also briefed the Governor about the historical relations between the UK, especially Scotland, and Meghalaya, which is known as the Scotland of the East. Low also reported admired the natural beauty of Meghalaya and the way that the heritage structure of Raj Bhavan, built during the British era, has been maintained.
