The state president of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Rikman Momin said that the National People’s Party (NPP) led government is doing well.
“The Chief Minister (Conrad Sangma) is really working hard…and as part of the government we are also supporting them in whatever way we can,” Momin said on Saturday.
He said that the Meghalaya Democratic Alliance (MDA) 2.0 in which the BJP is a part of, is “working perfectly okay”.
The state unit president of the BJP said that the party is preparing itself for the 2028 Assembly elections.
“We are starting right now,” Momin said.
Momin also said that the party will continue to work with the NPP and the BJP’s relationship with the former will not impact their performance in future polls.
He also said that the BJP workers in the state are united even as it added that the initial response of certain members to the party not putting up candidates for the 2024 Lok Sabha polls, blaming the state president has now dissipated.
“Now we are perfectly fine and now we have a good organisation,” Momin added.
Meanwhile, the national president, of the BJP JP Nadda on Saturday approved, the state office bearers for the session 2025-2028, Khrawboklang Basaiawmoit (Shillong city), Bernard N Marak (Tura city), Lakhon Biam (West Jaintia Hills), Dr Bernadette Lyngdoh and Bipen Pradhan (Shillong city), Anil Hajong (Tura city) has been appointed as state vice-presidents.
Wankitbok Pohshna (Shillong city) and Amitava Saha (West Garo Hills) as general secretaries.
Anzie Ellicia A Sangma (Tura city), Belbora Wankhar (East Khasi Hills), Daniella L. Nonglait (Shillong City), Sukhi Pariat (Shillong city), ommanderful Sana (East Jaintia Hills) and Wilber Danngo Marak (Tura city) as state secretaries.
Sarwan Jhunjhunwala (Shillong city), state treasurer and Ashok Singhania (Shillong city), state joint-treasurer.
Sabyasachi Ghose (media convener), Mariahom Kharkrang (chief spokesperson), Sarad Bawri (IT convener), Fredee Aaron Kahit (Social Media convener), Dipika Dey (Office Secretary) and Deeya Singh Rathore (State Cells convener).
