The BJP’s vice-president of the Shillong city unit has thrown his hat into the ring for the East Shillong constituency if the party allots the ticket to him for the 2023 election.
Wankitbok Pohshna, in a press release, said he is ready and willing to run if the BJP taps him on the shoulder.
Formerly of the Meghalaya Democratic Party, he joined the saffron party in 2015 and has “been actively involved in party activities at the grassroot.”
Pohshna recently met the East Shillong mandal president, which is the primary unit of the party hierarchy to formally submit his intention to contest the election from the BJP if given the ticket.
Away from politics, he has been involved in filmmaking. As a video editor Pohshna has edited more than 65 music videos, 10 feature films and documentaries for both Khasi and Jaiñtia producers.
