To raise public awareness on the detrimental effects of drug abuse, Ri Bhoi Police organised a bike rally today from Nongpoh to Lad Umsaw, Umiam.
The rally was flagged off by Ri Bhoi Deputy Commissioner Arpit Upadhyay.
The objective of the rally was to generate awareness about the perils of drug abuse, which poses a significant threat to the future generation.
Upadhyay commended the police department for organising the event, recognising the gravity of the issue. He emphasised on the urgent need to address the ill effects of drug abuse and the importance of safeguarding young generation by discouraging any involvement with drugs, which have proven to be ruinous for countless addicted youths.
