Rambrai-Jyrngam MDC Bajop Pyngrope today said he did not wish to contest the district council elections, brushing aside speculation that the NPP has denied him a ticket.
“How can I be denied a ticket when I have not applied for one?” he said while expressing his disappointment that people are making assumptions without knowing the facts.
Pyngrope stated that he respects the party’s decision and is committed to campaigning for the party during the upcoming KHADC elections.
“We respect the first list of candidates released by the NPP, which is based on recommendations from the block committees. As a dedicated member of the NPP, I fully support this decision,” he said.
Former Rambrai-Jyrngam MLA Kimfa Sidney Marbaniang will contest in place of the sitting MDC.
Pyngrope also said the NPP is diligently preparing for the district council elections and intends to contest nearly all the available seats, taking into account the winnability factor.
He said the NPP has contributed significantly to the development of his constituency, including various community and rural development projects, as well as road improvements.
“I wholeheartedly welcome the party’s procedures because a party’s decision is paramount. We will continue to work under the dynamic leadership of our state leaders,” he added.
