The Office of International Affairs (OIA), NEHU in collaboration with Seher-India cultural group under the aegis of the Ministry of External affairs is holding the ASEAN Music Festival at the Convocation Hall of NEHU here from 4 pm.
Three ASEAN nations represented by three reputed bands from Indonesia, Singapore and Myanmar are going to perform and showcase their genre of music, which mostly is rock and fusion music together.
The three bands, namely MRTV modern music band (Myanmar), Riau Rhythm (Indonesia), Linying Band (Singapore), are visiting NEHU Shillong for the festival.
This is a unique initiative in the Golden Jubilee Year of NEHU by Vice-Chancellor Prof. P S Shukla.
The festival is happening for the first time in Shillong and NEHU and it has generated substantial response from among the music lovers of Shillong.
As an icing on the cake, Colours, a band from Shillong will also perform to enthuse the audience with their mellifluous tune.
The OIA-NEHU is open to participation by all music lovers in this gala rock festival. Passes have been arranged for the general public.
