Shillong MP Dr. Ricky Andrew J. Syngkon today said that anyone involved in misuse and illegalities in the implementation of the central government schemes should be taken to task.
“If anyone is involved in such malpractices, they should be taken to task. At the end of the day, it is your money, my money, and for the welfare of the masses, and we should not allow such things to happen,” Dr. Syngkon said on the sidelines of a programme at Sankardev College here.
Stating that he has heard about the mismanagement of various central government schemes, he however, said that the top-down approach in the formulation of central government schemes devoid of the ground realities also causes failures.
“There are two things here. Some of the central schemes formulated are implemented on a top-down approach without knowing the ground reality, and that is why some of the schemes have failed and have not yielded the desired result,” Dr. Syngkon added.
According to him, India being diverse in every respect including topography, climate, and people, it is important to understand these factors and come up with schemes that can be implemented successfully in order to achieve the desired goal and objectives.
