Shillong, Oct 26: Kishan Lyngdoh and guest professional Ajay Duhan hit centuries for Meghalaya on the first day of their Ranji Trophy 2026-27 plate group match against Mizoram in Nadiad, Gujarat, today.
Having won the toss and chosen to bat first, Meghalaya went at over 4 runs an over to post a massive 385/2 in 89 overs.
Mizoram knocked off the two openers Kevin Christopher (18) and Arpit Bhatewara (29) but Meghalaya then got stuck in, with an unbeaten partnership of 308 between Kishan and Ajay.
At stumps, Ajay was on 167 not out, which came from 228 deliveries. His innings included 20 fours and all four sixes of the day. Kishan remained not out on 144 from 196 balls, with 18 fours to his name as the pair completely dominated the Mizoram bowlers.
This is Ajay’s highest first-class score, his previous best being 129, while Kishan has a double century under his belt but he will no doubt thoroughly celebrate what is his fifth Ranji century.
