Amid the rift between the NPP and BJP, the coordination committee of the ruling Meghalaya Democratic Alliance (MDA) will be held here tomorrow.
The meeting which will be chaired by Chief Minister Conrad Sangma and will be attended by leaders of NPP, UDP, PDF, HSPDP, KHNAM and independent legislators supporting the government.
However, the BJP will be represented only by its two legislators – AL Hek and Sanbor Shullai.
Although no agenda was set for the meeting, it was expected that issues related to better coordination among all allies of the MDA will come up for discussion.
The holding of the MDA coordination committee meeting comes in the wake of various allegations made by State BJP leaders against the Conrad Sangma government on illegal coal transportation, corruption in GHADC and JHADC and also on the move by the government to set up the central bonded warehouse.
For the past two months, both Chief Minister Conrad Sangma and his deputy Prestone Tynsong have been locked in a war of words with the State BJP leaders with Tynsong even daring the BJP to leave the MDA government.
