Shillong, May 8: Commemorating 90 years of service to the nation by All India Radio (1936–2026), Akashvani (AIR) Tura, in collaboration with Doordarshan Kendra (DDK) Tura, organised a walkathon today morning to celebrate the state-owned broadcaster’s role in the national mediascape.
The walkathon was flagged off by Ferdinand Marak, Assistant Director (Programme), Akashvani Tura, in the presence of TK Marak and Kamal Koch, Programme Executives of DDK Tura.
Nearly 100 participants, including men, women, officials, staff members and their family members from AIR and DDK Tura, took part in the 3.5km event. The route commenced from Akashvani Tura, proceeded towards Najing Bazar and concluded back at the starting point.
