The A·chik Holistic Awakening Movement (AHAM) has submitted a complaint to the Deputy Commissioner of South West Garo Hills regarding the recent selection process for the posts of AYUSH Medical Officer and Yoga Instructor.
All the selected candidates are non-indigenous persons and the whole selection process has thus ignored the native tribal communities of Meghalaya, the pressure group stated.
The interview for the posts was conducted on May 15 and the results were announced on May 20.
AHAM said that the recruitment advertisement mentioned that preference would be given to local candidates “but [the result] has completely excluded the three genuine tribal peoples.”
The group added that it has filed a Right to Information (RTI) request to reveal more information about the hiring process. AHAM also wants the declared results to be revoked and a fresh interview process initiated.
