BSF Additional Director General (Eastern Command), Kolkata Sonali Mishra will chair the Sainik Sammelan at BOP Dawki tomorrow to evaluate the real time problems being faced by the troops deployed on ground in domination of the border areas.
The meeting will be attended virtually by bordermen deployed at other locations under Meghalaya frontier.
Mishra is on a three-day visit to the State to review the current security scenario and operational preparedness ahead of the Meghalaya assembly elections.
The ADG visited the Border Out Posts (BOPs) at Pyrdiwah, Muktapur and Dawki today and interacted with the field commanders and took stock of the security scenario, reviewed the border domination and operational preparedness in order to make Indo-Bangladesh international border crime free.
She also applauded the efforts and dedication of BSF personnel in safeguarding the borders and efforts being made to control crime on the international border.
Earlier, Mishra was welcomed by BSF Inspector General Pradip Kumar and other senior officers when she arrived on February 15.
The Inspector General briefed ADG about the area of responsibility of frontier and discussed the challenges along the Indo- Bangladesh international border and measures to control trans-border crimes.
