VPP MLA from North Shillong constituency Adelbert Nongrum has asked the Health Department to ensure a uniform medical reimbursement for all categories of State government employees and pensioners “irrespective of the office they hold.”
In a letter to Health Minister Ampareen Lyngdoh today, Nongrum said that the government should issue necessary orders for having “uniformity in the reimbursement of medical claims for all categories of employees and pensioners irrespective of the office they hold.”
Stating that the government should not create disparity in matters relating to health and well-being of the employees and pensioners, Nongrum also suggested abolishing the Central Government Health Scheme (CGHS) rate to avoid such disparity.
“It may be suggested that the CGHS rate can be done away with to avoid the disparity and status quo may be maintained,” he said.
