The president of the All Khasi Hills A’chik Federation (AKHAF), Cleafstar Ch Marak, has thanked the authorities for emergency aid that was provided during the recent spell of bad weather, that left many areas cut off due to flooding and landslides.
Much aid came via helicopter drops, which greatly helped people whose homes had been destroyed and who had lost their possessions and were without food and water, Marak said.
The AKHAF thanked the Chief Minister, police, district administrations, Border Security Force, church groups, NGOs and local MLAs for their assistance.
