Shillong, Jul 26: In a shocking incident, a 17-year-old boy allegedly attacked and killed his elder brother with an axe at Deran Gittim, Chitoktak, Tura, late last night.
The victim succumbed to his injuries after the assault. According to sources, the incident occurred following a heated altercation between the two, and the elder brother was reportedly under the influence of alcohol.
In a fit of rage, the younger brother struck the elder brother with an axe. The victim was rushed to Tura Civil Hospital, but doctors declared him dead.
Following the incident, the accused fled the scene but was later produced before police at Chandmary Beat House by family members on Saturday morning. The police have taken the accused into custody and are investigating the matter further.
