The office of the East Khasi Hills Deputy Commissioner organised a bike rally to pay tribute to the armed forces and express solidarity with soldiers serving at the frontlines today.
The initiative, led by the DC, RM Kurbah, aimed to recognise the sacrifices and unwavering service of the nation’s soldiers.
The rally was flagged off at Golflink by Shanborlang Warjri, Additional Deputy Commissioner, and concluded at the State Central Library.
Speaking at a brief programme held at the library, Kurbah highlighted that the event was a mark of support for the soldiers engaged in the ongoing conflict with Pakistan. She referenced the recent incident in Pahalgam, adding that the safety and peace enjoyed by citizens is a direct result of their sacrifices.
“The nation stands united in gratitude. It is through their sleepless nights that we sleep peacefully,” she said.
Reaffirming the government’s unwavering support, Kurbah stated that soldiers, regardless of their deployment location, are never alone. “We, the people of India, are with them, standing together in solidarity,” she added.
