The Tikrikilla unit of the Constitutional Rights Forum (CRF) has written to the Superintendent of Police of West Garo Hills to plead for a new fire engine as the existing one is in a “deplorable state”.
The CRF stated, “The old vehicle’s poor condition poses a significant risk to the safety of our personnel and the communities we serve.”
It added a call for modern rescue equipment to tackle other emergencies, such as tools for vehicle extrication, firefighting and medical incidents. “Having such equipment would enhance our response capabilities and ultimately save lives,” the CRF said.
