The five-day Inter-State Youth Exchange Programme organised by Nehru Yuva Kendra Shillong and the participants from Mizoram, which commenced on February 16, concluded here today.
The combination of physical activities like yoga, intellectual engagement through language learning and expert sessions and cultural exchange through historical site visits and performances created a well-rounded experience for all the participants involved, a press release informed today.
On the closing day, Sibhi Chakravarthy, Director of Community and Rural Development, in his address as the chief guest, praised the NYKS for organising such programmes. He noted that they provide valuable opportunities for the youth to experience and understand the culture and way of life of other communities.
Chakravarthy emphasised unity in diversity and the importance of such programmes in fostering a deeper understanding between different communities across India.
He also encouraged the youth to explore themselves and make the most of the opportunities presented by such exchange programmes to understand the differences and similarities between the states.
