The dorbar shnong Khimusnaing in Jowai has informed that a common platform has been arranged on February 14 for candidates of Jowai South constituency contesting the Jaintia Hills Autonomous District Council.
Waheh shnong Titus Bamon said the dorbar had decided to only hold common platforms from 2019 for candidates to spell out their vision.
He said the one-day common platform will be held at the Indoor Sports Hall at 7:30 pm.
All candidates have been urged to follow the rules set by the dorbar. He said only five persons, including the candidate, will be allowed at the event and two vehicles at the venue. A candidate will be allowed to speak for 30 minutes after a draw of lots, he added.
Further, the dorbar said a candidate will not engage in negative campaigning and are barred from holding rallies.
Meanwhile, the dorbar shnong of Bataw in East Jaintia Hills has identified Lacheh playground for candidates of the Bataw-Lakadong constituency to hold campaigns.
Waheh shnong Deihok Sumer has urged candidates to follow rules set by the District Election Officer.
