The College of Community Science at Central Agricultural University, Tura yesterday organised an awareness programme on cybercrime prevention. The event was attended by students, faculty, and staff from the college.
The aim of the programme was to educate students, faculty, and staff about the latest cyber threats and best practices for prevention. Participants learned about common cyber crimes such as phishing, malware, ransomware, and social engineering attacks.
The programme featured a keynote address by Dr. Raghavendra MG, Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of the Western Range, Meghalaya.
A distinguished expert in cyber security and law enforcement, Dr. Raghavendra MG provided valuable insights into the growing threat of cybercrime. He discussed the various methods used by cybercriminals and emphasised the importance of proactive measures to safeguard personal and sensitive information.
Dr. Raghavendra MG also highlighted the need for vigilance and awareness in the digital age. He encouraged attendees to be cautious about sharing personal information online, use strong passwords, and be wary of suspicious emails or links.
The programme concluded with a lively question-and-answer session where participants had the opportunity to interact with Dr. Raghavendra MG and seek clarification on specific concerns related to cybercrime prevention.
This awareness programme is part of the college’s ongoing efforts to create a safe and informed campus community.
