Seven passengers of a tourist taxi escaped from the jaws of death near Laitylyngkot in Pynurlsa along the Shillong-Dawki road when a boulder bounced over the car, after a landslide.
The incident happened today at around 6:35 pm when the car driven by one Ajit Deb was returning from Pynursla.
Deb narrated his harrowing tryst with near death. He said just as one boulder fell just in front of his car he was able to turn his car sideways.
Commuters said boulders often break loose from the cut hills for the road widening and is posing a threat to motorists and the dangerous landslide has put fear and trepidation into the minds of those travelling on this route.
