A woman died and another person was injured when they were attacked by an unidentified person in a village in West Jaintia Hills today afternoon.
According to police, the woman identified as Ailem Bamon was found murdered with her throat slit at her agricultural farm in Sahsniang.
Another person identified as Ki Dkhar suffered grievous neck injuries. He was rushed to Jowai Civil Hospital for medical treatment.
A case has been registered at Raliang Police Station in connection with the incident and investigation is on to trace the culprit involved in the attack.
