The body of a junior engineer of the Water Conservation was found floating in the Umiam River under in Umiam police limits in Ri Bhoi district today.
The junior engineer was identified as Ron Cooper Massar (54) of Umroi Jaiawpdeng.
A missing complaint was filed by the family on May 20 that Massar had gone for his morning walk at 4 am and had not returned home since then.
Some locals spotted the body of the victim floating in the river and was fished out.
While it is being suspected that the victim might have drowned to death, police are waiting for the post-mortem report as investigation is on.
