      Non-MLAs dominate list of political appointees in State

      Non-MLAs dominate the list of political appointees in various boards, corporations and commissions of the Meghalaya government.

      These non-MLAs belong to the NPP, UDP, HSPDP and BJP which are part of the Meghalaya Democratic Alliance government.

      Recently, Chief Minister Conrad Sangma said that till date there are 175 political appointees in the various boards, corporations and commissions of the government and over Rs 12 lakh was spent every month to pay them.

      Among the non-MLAs, those appointed as advisers to the State government include D D Lapang, Hamlet Dohling, Himalaya M. Shangpliang, Subodh Menon (honorary basis) and Jemino Mawthoh (honorary basis).

      In the State Planning Board, the non-MLAs holding the post of co-chairman are Babeth Sangma, Nihim D. Shira, Donkupar War, Kimfa S. Marbaniang, John F. Kharshiing, Samlin Malngiang and Sanjay Koch (MDC). The vice chairmen are Rayonald Kharkamni and Silman K. Sangma. The deputy chairmen are Hopeful K. Bamon, Remington Pyngrope, G G Bung Snaitang, Hamibuz Zaman, William Mynsong and Canning Marak. The members include Edward Kharwanlang and Banri Kupar Wahlang.

      In the State Level Public Grievances Committee(SLPGC), the co-chairmen are Mohendro Rapsang, Allantry Franklin Dkhar, Teinwell Dkhar (MDC), Fantin Joseph Lakadong (MDC) and Dominic Sawkmie while the vice chairmen are Kurosh M. Marak (MDC), Nickey Nongkhlaw, Rani Kurbah, Jemina Shylla, Yoowanki Phawa, J Queensland Nongrum, Sunshine Makri and Meristilla Wahlang.

      In Meghalaya Resource and Employment Generation Council (MREGC), the non-MLAs who hold the post of co-chairman include Semford B. Sangma, Jason Mawlong, Teibor Pathaw (MDC), Donlang Sohkhlet, Erantis Sympli, Meding Swer, Nripendra Koch, Dolly K. Sangma and Khim S T Sangma.

      In the Meghalaya Economic Development Council (MEDC), the co-chairmen are Emlang Lytan and Macmillan Byrsat. The vice chairman is Auguster Jyrwa.

      In the Regional Planning and Development Council for Shillong, the chairman is Bajop Pyngrope (MDC). In the Regional Planning and Development Council for Tura, the chairman is Rakesh Sangma (MDC) while the vice chairman is Sengbath R. Marak.

      In the State Health Advisory Board, the non-MLAs holding the post of co-chairman are Kupar Blah, Lonarson Ch Marak, Gigur Myrthong, and Promod Koch (MDC). The vice chairmen are Hambertus Nongtdu and Gilbert Sten. The deputy chairmen are Nidhu Ram Hajong, H Stalyne Lyngdoh and Sengbit Momin.

      In the Meghalaya State Development Reforms Commission, the co-chairmen are Titosstarwell Chyne (MDC) and Process T. Sawkmie. The vice chairmen are Mitchell Wankhar (MDC) and Mutshwa Thabah.

      In the Meghalaya State Housing Board, the non-MLAs holding the post of co-chairmen are Dasakhiat Lamare and Kunal Ch Momin. The vice chairmen are Hasina Yasmine Mondal, Malcolm Mylliemngap, Jambor War and Briwon Pohshna.

      In the State Programme Implementation and Monitoring Committee, the co-chairmen is Satto R. Marak. The vice chairmen are Balajied Rani (MDC), Bhalanglin Kharlyngdoh, Fernandez R. Marak, Radius Lapasam and Dipayan Chakravorty. The director is Jagdish Ch Hajong.

      In the State Law Commission, the co-chairman is Lambor Malngiang (MDC) while the vice chairmen are Pyndapborlang Nongsiej and Comet Star Kyndiah. The deputy chairman is Badariti L. Nonglait.

      In the Meghalaya Commission on Resource Mobilisation (MCRM), the co-chairman is Auspicious L. Mawphlang. The vice chairmen are Jansing M. Tynsong, Forward L. Mawlong, Justice Dkhar, Aiborlang L. Nonglait and Joseph Makdoh.

      In Mawmluh Cherra Cements Limited (MCCL), the vice chairmen are Dr. Aman War, Dabo M. Marak, Manroibha Kharpuri, and Anand Marak.

      In Meghalaya Handloom and Handicraft Development Corporation (MHHDC), the vice chairmen are Sengseng Momin and Pretty Kharpyngrope. The deputy chairman is Wanlamphrang Kharmujai while the director is Joiningstar Rongrin.

      In Meghalaya Industrial Development Corporation (MIDC) the non-MLAs holding the post of co-chairman include James P K Sangma, Embhahlang Syiemlieh, Donkupar Sumer and Darilang Lamare. The vice chairmen are Eleazer Chyne, Dengbok Kurkalang and Alphonse A. Sangma. The deputy chairman is Ransom Sutnga.

      In Meghalaya Infratech Consultancy and Innovations Limited, the co-chairmen are Dr. Charles Reuben Lyngdoh and Mebanri Laloo. The deputy chairman is Nolipstar Lyngdoh. The director is Secondson A. Sangma.

      In Meghalaya Khadi and Village Industries Board (MKVIB), the vice chairman is Phermanbha Warsohlang. The deputy chairman is Panbor L. Ryntathiang. The director is Robert T. Sangma.

      In Meghalaya Mineral Development Corporation (MMDC), the co-chairmen are Pyniaid Sing Syiem (MDC) and Lemingston K. Sangma. The vice chairmen are Kennedy Khyriem and Shining Star Khardewsaw. The deputy chairman is Bimal Saikia while the director is Kotbor Warjri.

      In Meghalaya Tourism Development Corporation (MTDC), the co-chairman is Abdus Saleh. The vice chairmen are Bipen Pradhan and Ricky Shullai. The directors are Alan West Kharkongor, Siljong R. Marak, Willy D. Shira, Shemphang Lyngdoh, Pyndap Wahlang, Sharailang Warjri and Prosper S. Marak.

      In Forest Development Corporation (FDC), the technical adviser is Nababrata Bhattacharjee. The co-chairmen are K P Pangniang and Charming N. Sangma. The vice chairmen are Erastus Nongsiej, Stephanson Mukhim, Pinto G. Momin, Wilness Marak and Fazol War Nongbri.
