Leaders of the Mawkyrwat Block Congress Committee (MBCC) elected new members yesterday to replace defectors and welcome new entrants.
The meeting was necessitated after local MDC Carness Sohshang and some others quit the Congress for the National People’s Party (NPP) recently.
New members who joined the Congress included members from the People’s Democratic Front (PDF), a party that merged with the NPP last year.
The new members of the Mawkyrwat Congress include president N Tympuiñ, vice-president Kyntiew Nongsiej, general secretary Andreas Kharkongor, chief organiser Kynphamlin V Kharlyngdoh and chief adviser Valentine Thyrniang.
