Eleven National Service Scheme (NSS) volunteers from Khrawsing Christian College in Mawngap represented Meghalaya at a national integration camp in Itanagar.
The contingent was under the leadership of NSS programme officer Evadondor Sten. The camp, an annual event, began on January 5 and concluded today. It was organised by the NSS Regional Directorate in Guwahati in collaboration with Dera Natung Government College in Arunachal Pradesh.
NSS volunteers from 15 states participated. The seven-day camp is organised every year in different parts of the country to make NSS volunteers aware of the rich cultural diversity of India, history of diversified culture, national pride through knowledge about India and to integrate the nation through social service.
During this year’s camp, the 11 NSS volunteers from Meghalaya participated in the cultural programme showcasing Khasi traditional dance. Volunteers benefited from listening to various important topics at academic sessions such as career guidance for youth, youth and life skills, national integration and the role of youth and moral education.
