Yesterday, personnel of the 4th Battalion of the Border Security Force (BSF) Meghalaya foiled an attempt to smuggle buffaloes across the international border into Bangladesh and rescued 93 animals.
The incident took place in West Jaintia Hills and the BSF were alerted to it through specific information that led the border guards to conduct a special operation in the area concerned.
During this operation, the BSF seized 93 cattle, which had been concealed in a jungle on the border. The seized cattle were handed over to the concerned police station for further action.
