Acting on a specific tip-off, personnel of the 43rd Battalion of the Border Security Force (BSF) Meghalaya seized two trucks loaded with smuggled dry betel nuts worth Rs 40 lakh along the international border in South Garo Hills.
Today’s joint operation was carried out in the area of Gaonbari, under Rongra police station limits. The large haul of betel nuts was handed over to police and an FIR filed at Rongra.
