After successfully lighting Pandare, a village in East Jaiñtia Hills district with solar lights, the Star Cement through its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative has started works to provide electrification to another six villages under Narpuh Elaka.
Works are going on war-footing at Lum Tongseng, Sakhri, Sonapyrdi, Khaddum and Lumshnong, the company informed.
Through its CSR, works are also ongoing for construction of a motorable bridge at a cost of Rs 30 lakh at Wahlaru in Lumshnong, which is hoped to facilitate communication.
