Three children and a father died when fire engulfed their home in Mawlam village near Pynursla early today morning.
Rangbah Shnong of Mawlam, Ngong Buhtip said that the father was Etan Tynsong (42). He and his three children, 10-year old Kellarsha Khongkhiang, 6-year old Bhaman Khongkhiang and 4-year old Elimai Khongkhian were killed in the fire that broke out at around 1:30 am.
The mother, Phanglang Khongkhiang and other two children, Labitbha Khongkhiang and Elimon Khongkhian managed to escape the raging fire.
Buhtip said villagers desperately tried to douse the fire but to no avail.
The cause of the fire is still unknown and police are investigating till filing of this report.
