The Directorate of Food Processing organised the distribution of jackfruit processing machinery to selected beneficiaries at a function on July 28 in Sangsanggre, West Garo Hills.
The machinery was given as a grant to eight beneficiaries to enable them to start “nano jackfruit processing units”.
These beneficiaries had received training at the College of Community Science, CAU, Tura, on processing jackfruit. The distribution of machinery was part of Mission Jackfruit’s aims of empowering more than 200 entrepreneurs over a period of five years.
