A further two Covid-related deaths were recorded in Meghalaya today, the Health Department informed. There were also 96 new cases and 30 recoveries in the state.
One death was logged in East Khasi Hills and the other in West Garo Hills. There have now been five deaths linked to Covid-19 in Meghalaya this month, including the two from yesterday.
There were 28 new infections in East Khasi Hills, three in East Garo Hills, two in Eastern West Khasi Hills, four in Ri-Bhoi, five in South Garo Hills, two in South West Garo Hills, 47 in West Garo Hills, three in West Jaiñtia Hills and two in West Khasi Hills.
Nine recoveries were in East Khasi Hills, five in Ri-Bhoi, two in South West Garo Hills, 11 in West Garo Hills, one in West Jaiñtia Hills and two in West Khasi Hills.
There are now 461 active Covid-19 cases in the state – East Garo Hills seven, East Jaiñtia Hills one, East Khasi Hills 123, Eastern West Khasi Hills two, North Garo Hills six, Ri-Bhoi 49, South Garo Hills 11, South West Garo Hills 13, West Garo Hills 235, West Jaiñtia Hills 12 and West Khasi Hills two.
In all, Meghalaya has had 94,668 Covid-19 cases, out of which 92,608 have recovered and 1,599 have died from the virus. Forty-six patients are being treated in hospital with the disease – 39 in East Khasi Hills, one in Ri-Bhoi, five in West Garo Hills and one in West Jaiñtia Hills.
