Director General of Police, Lajja Ram Bishnoi today evening visited Jaiaw to get a glimpse of the area following a spate of attacks on non-tribals in the area.
Bishnoi was accompanied by Superintendent of Police (City) Vivek Syiem and other senior police officials.
As the police chief walked down from Jaiaw Pdeng to Jaiaw Laitdom, he was briefed about the area and its sensitive spots by Syiem.
“The visit by the DGP to Jaiaw is apparently to send a clear message that he will get tough on criminals and lawlessness in the area,” a senior police official said.
