Meghalaya recorded 28 new cases of Covid-19 today as well as four recoveries and no fatalities.
The Shillong and Tura campuses of North-Eastern Hill University (NEHU) accounted for eight and 19 new infections respectively. The Vice-Chancellor of NEHU, Prof PS Shukla, had tested positive soon after attending an International Yoga Day event in Shillong last week.
One other case was also detected in East Khasi Hills. Three recoveries were in East Khasi Hills and one in West Jaintia Hills.
There are now 65 active Covid-19 cases in the state – East Garo Hills one, East Khasi Hills 15, Ri-Bhoi 14 and West Garo Hills 35.
In all, Meghalaya has had 93,947 Covid-19 cases, of which 65 are active, 92,288 have recovered and 1,594 have died from the virus.
